For sale is a unique pair of Amphion Two18 monitors acquired directly from Corrado Faccioni, historical engineering consultant for Amphion. This specific pair features a state-of-the-art crossover and waveguide implementation executed by Faccioni using high-end schematics originally shelved by Amphion due to industrial production cost constraints.
1. The Loudspeakers (Modifications & Upgrades):
Shipping & Packaging: The monitors come with their original factory wooden crate for 100% secure worldwide shipping.
Point-to-Point Hardwired Crossover: The original factory PCB has been discarded. The new crossover is hand-wired "in the air" on a damping wooden board with a dedicated copper sheet for localized ground-plane shielding.
No-Compromise Components: Factory capacitors are replaced with ultra-precise Ansar CPA metallized polypropylene film capacitors (20μF and 10μF / 250V). Low-frequency inductors are heavy-gauge red copper foil coils wrapped in tight air-cores to lower DC resistance (Rdc) and eliminate microphonic coil vibrations.
Mechanical Waveguide Optimization: The rear coupling of the titanium dome tweeter inside its Corian waveguide is mechanically overhauled, clamped using a dense wooden bracing bar and through-body Torx bolts.
