ModWright Instruments ModWright Transporter Truth – 240V – One Owner, Never Used, Original Invoice

For sale is a rare ModWright Transporter Truth, originally purchased new directly from ModWright Instruments in 2008 as a 240V European-specification unit with the ModWright Truth Modifications.

I am the original owner and the unit has never been used by me since purchase. It has been carefully stored and remains in exceptionally well-preserved condition.

Importantly, the original invoice from ModWright Instruments is still present and will be included with the sale, documenting both the provenance and exact specification of the unit.

The original invoice describes it as:

“New Silver 240V Slim Devices Transporter with Truth Modifications”

Original purchase price: $3,795

This is therefore not a standard Logitech/Slim Devices Transporter with an undocumented aftermarket modification. It was purchased new directly from ModWright Instruments / Dan Wright in its Truth-modified configuration.

The ModWright Truth Modification

The ModWright modification substantially upgrades the analogue output section of the Transporter, incorporating a tube-based analogue output stage and upgraded power supply.

The result is a significantly more sophisticated digital source, combining the functionality of the Transporter platform with the organic, dimensional and natural presentation for which ModWright's tube electronics became known.

The ModWright Transporter was highly regarded in the audiophile community and received considerable attention in the specialist HiFi press.

The ModWright Transporter became particularly appreciated for combining digital resolution and flexibility with a more natural, organic and analogue-like presentation.

It is particularly appealing to listeners who appreciate high-resolution digital playback but find some modern DACs overly clinical or analytical.

Despite its age, the ModWright Transporter remains a very interesting high-end digital source and an unusual alternative to many modern DAC/streamer combinations.

Condition & Provenance

I purchased this unit brand new directly from ModWright Instruments in September 2008 and have remained its sole owner.

The unit has never been used by me since purchase and has been carefully stored.

Cosmetically it is in exceptionally well-preserved condition, with no scratches or other notable marks.

The original ModWright Instruments invoice is included, providing unusually good provenance for a ModWright Transporter of this age.
