For sale: Threshold CAS-2 power amplifier, classic Class A design by Nelson Pass, in excellent cosmetic and functional condition.
Power output: 125 W/ch into 8Ω
This unit has undergone a complete power-supply recap, carried out using high-quality Mundorf capacitors, selected for electrical reliability and long-term stability, while strictly respecting original values, layout and design philosophy.
No modifications were made to the signal path; the original sonic character has been fully preserved.
A soft-start circuit has been professionally installed to reduce turn-on transients and protect loudspeakers during power-up, improving overall operational safety without altering the original design or sonic character.
The amplifier is fully functional, electrically stable and silent at operating temperature, tested on all inputs and ready for use.
Used in a non-smoking domestic environment.
Excellent cosmetic condition, with only minor signs of normal use (micro scratches) visible in the photos.
Original packaging is not available; the amplifier will be shipped using professional, international-grade packaging, suitable for worldwide transport.
