Harbeth HL Mk4 Vintage Speakers Brought To Life.
As the title states, these speakers were all restaured, except for the crossover, that was OK, and needs no messing around. New authentic tweeter domes from AUDAX, replacing the old blown ones, same AUDAX TPX bass units, new wood veener, cleaned contacts. No original front foam protection, problably degraded in time, as on any other pair of these speakers. You can search the net and acknowledge: that foam is an impossible find.
Marvelous Harbeth BBC sound from 1984, that needs beefy power amplification, not necessarily watts (although they like it), but also current - both is better. Just google it for more info. This was a turning point model to Harbeth, introducing a new woofer material called TPX, from AUDAX France, but Harbeth patented. And with this, an open door to Japan export.
Very well controlled and punchy bass, and clear highs. Did I mentioned the mediums? Well, You should know by now you can recognize your kids voice through this speakers, just as Alan Shaw, fine tuning every Harbeth model with his daughters voice.
