Description
Rare find by my retired HIFI dealer. NOS Gold Spot. Never used
Revenge is one of the motivational forces. Van den Dungen (the third Dutch grand master)
was as Koetsu importer so angry at Sugano-san that he invented the whole Kiseki story as well the product .The story is that some foggy Mr. Fokudu invented a winding coils machine for the MC carts. That is how the first Kiseki Blue was born. A new ‘’reference cart’’ (Vinylegine).
Martin Colloms was very impressed with this cart preferring it above Koetsu in his review about 8 exotic MCs and one MM cartridges ( HFN, Sep.82).
The Blue was metaphorical called ‘’the Koetsu killer’’. The author of this description had no
idea that this was exactly the intention of Van den Dungen.
The cart body and color are designed by Dutch artist with known painter tradition while the
generator is produced in Japan as OEM by probably by Kondo san who also produced 3 step-up transformers for the Kiseki. Both were good friends, friendship based on both obsession with tube amps. Van den Dungen still produce them in China under name PRIMA LUNA.
The curious thing was that nobody could prove the existence of this ‘’master designer’’
Fokudu so the other guess was Dynavector as designer which ‘’parts’’ were recognizable
on Kiseki. This however is nothing NEW because some producer sell their parts to other producers. For example Canadian ‘’Shinon Red boron’’ has the same parts as Kiseki. As is the case by Benz in Switserland who also produce all parts except styli and cantilevers which are produced by two Japanese jewel companies Ogura and Namiki for all , manufacturers and rettipe
The ‘’Blue series’’ consist of 3 cartridges: the Blue, the (improved) Silver spot and the latest
the Gold spot. I think that they are made by Kondo –san ( Audo Note Japan) because he
also designed 3 step-up transformers for Van den Dungen. Besides Kondo-san was his ONLY
friend in Japan.
The difference is the very low output by Audio Note and very high price.
BTW if one can find one of those Kiseki step-up transformer don’t dawdle. One will get
an Kondo transformer for a bargain price
