This Sony CDP-557ESD belongs to Sony’s legendary ES (Elevated Standard) line and is renowned for its outstanding build quality and precision transport.
Features:
• Exceptional build quality – heavy, solid, and built to last
• TDA1541A DAC – warm, musical, and highly detailed
• CDM-1 transport – one of the most reliable and best-sounding mechanisms ever made
• Digital outputs (coaxial and optical)
• Premium ES design with copper chassis and luxury front panel
• Extensive settings to fine-tune performance
Condition:
• Excellent working condition
• Very clean cosmetically (minor signs of use)
• Laser reads discs quickly and flawlessly
• All functions and buttons operate perfectly
Used from 1989 until 2002 only. Since then it stands in the cupboard and shoukd go to a new owner. It still works flawlessly. Only recently I had the belts of the loadingmechanism replaced.
