One owner pair. Only 180h after the original ARC tubes have been fitted!
The amp has been ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS during the all the time it has been used. Not even once the amps needed sevice.
The owner has always used them with only half output tubes fitted (yes, the amp will work like this no problem at all!).
There are multiple reasons for that:
1. There is very little difference in SQ (if any) when running it with half the tubes vs full set
2. The amp produces 50% less heat
3. The cost of retubing goes down 50%
4. It probably increses reliability (my guess)
In fact, I don't think there is a single reason to run it with all the tubes! Even with half the tubes fitted, the amp sounds MUCH better than the Ref 250 monos (probably due to a much bigger PSU and output transformer).
If you have the room - those amps sound absolutley breathtaking! The owner used them to power Magico M5 and then Wilson Chronosonics XVX.
Comes with the original box and warranty card from the ARC distributor.
