Gordon Holt wrote in his review in Stereophile (2010) ‘I will state that MC 2000
is the best sounding MC I have ever heard’. But the price of 1000$ + the needed
SUT (T 2000) at also 1000$ may be to much for many. What would he say about
present prices ?
But the ’old Lukataschek’ produced the ’younger brother’ of MC 2000.
Twice ‘as strong’ with 0,1 mV and 1 Ohm. So it seems that those lucky
one with T 2000 can get the younger brother from unexpected source. There
is or was the idea that active phono-pres can do this jobe without SUT. Not
so obviously according to Lukatschek. The ’TR’ on the EBONY with output of
0, 1 mV and impedance of 1 Ohm . For those lucky one who own T 2000 a
kind of younger version of MC 2000. I have no intention to buy a SUT for only
one MC, I collect cartridges not SUT’s
BTW the same specs. as Kondo's Io with 0,1 mV output and 1 Ohm impedance.
Surprise, suprise; I thought that Benz Ebony TR was ''new contender'' but
discovered in ''Analog Source'' the review by Jack Roberts with comparison
with Miyabe standard...However not with Ebony TR which would make more
sense.
