PRODUCT INFORMATION
Cayin Audio's new class-leading tube phono unit.
The impressive CS-6PH offers two Phono inputs, with MM and MC compatibility.
It is suitable for the most demanding cartridges as it supports the connection of turntables with two different cartridges or the connection of two turntables, each with different MM or MC cartridges.
With a single, simple selection on the front, you can choose to operate the MM or MC input.
Tubes
The CS-6PH is a flagship tube phono preamp and is built to the same incredibly high standards as Cayin's other tube amplifiers.
Two carefully selected Electro Harmonix 6922 tubes are used for MC amplification, two JJ Electronics ECC83 tubes are used for MM amplification, and they employ incredibly precise and finely tuned RIAA tolerance equalization networks.
In the CS-6PH, the signal is directed to the 12AT7 which acts as the output stage.
In addition, the CS-6PH employs two RCA 22DE4 tube rectification tubes to minimize the domino effect of power interference.
Gain
The LOW/MED/HIGH gain switch is conveniently located on the front of the CS-6PH and uses a very high end contact assembly for the switching process.
The gain can also be changed from 40dB to 57dB, 61dB or 65dB.
Typically, 40dB is for MM and the gain settings of 57dB, 61dB and 65dB are for MC
Input impedance / input capacitance:
Out of the factory, the CS-6PH is configured at 40dB and 47k ohms / 47pF for MM.
It's the perfect starting point for most users.
The CAP switch on the front panel allows you to adjust the MM input capacitance. You can choose to use either 47pF or 100pF for MM, which covers almost all MM configurations.
The CS-6PH is also equipped with a flexible set of cartridge loading options for MC cartridges.
The input impedance of the MC input can be adjusted to meet the needs of any high-end MC cartridge of 47 ohms, 100 ohms, 200 ohms, 470 ohms and 1000 ohms.
The impedance selector is located to the right of the front panel and, again, switching is done via a very high-level switching circuit that ensures the signal path, and therefore the musicality, remains at its absolute maximum performance on all load selections.
Filter
To achieve the best sound results, a special low-pass filter circuit has been used to prevent low-frequency distortion. On the front panel, there is a rumble switch that allows you to select whether it's in or out of the circuit.
Departures
The CS-6PH offers a balanced analog output and an unbalanced analog output, allowing you to connect to a wide range of high-end amplifiers.
Power supply
With decades of experience in developing unique, handcrafted tube amplifiers, Cayin has always developed its own Transformers using its own technology.
In the CS-6PH, Cayin has specifically designed an incredibly tailored EI power transformer for the power supply, allowing the full untapped potential of the design to be realized.
Combined with the ultra-low noise voltage regulation circuit, the CS-6PH ensures a pure, low noise, and stable power output.
Handmade
Each CS-6PH Phono preamplifier is hand-assembled at the Cayin factory by highly skilled technicians.
A final multi-step quality and listening test is carried out, which verifies not only every operation and every functionality, but also ensures that the sound lives up to the full Cayin reference standard.
Premium Parts
Our design is loaded with audio-grade capacitors and carbon film resistors, fully custom-built in-house EI transformers for critical power supply sections, the finest ceramic tube sockets, high-end silver relays, a reflection of the inherent "no compromise" approach and core DNA of Cayin's design ethos.
