Beschreibung

Provenance & Background:
This matched reference stack (Premier 7B Preamp and Premier 8A 275W Monoblocks) was originally part of a high-end system in Ljubljana, Slovenia, curated by Franc Kuzma. The units have been kept in dry, climate-controlled storage for approximately 20 years and have recently undergone a controlled 48-hour reactivation and stabilization protocol.

Technical Condition:
The amplifiers are fully operational and have been verified for stability:

  • Capacitors: Power supply capacitors have been successfully re-formed and are stable under high-current load.

  • Performance: Verified symmetrical audio output into a 6-ohm and 4-ohm load. Both monoblocks track perfectly at high volumes with zero drift once at thermal equilibrium.

  • Bias Logic: The electronic protection and bias circuits are fully responsive. (Note: One indicator LED on the left unit is currently dormant, though the associated tube is fully functional and sonically matched to its partners).

Technical data:

  • Electronic Protection Circuitry: Late-production "8A" specification featuring integrated fault-sensing and reset functions to protect output transformers. Each monoblock is capable of delivering 275 Watts of power.

  • Dual-Monaural Architecture: Premier 7B features two completely independent chassis/circuits for zero crosstalk and maximum soundstage depth.

  • High-Current Capability: Optimized for difficult electrostatic loads (Sound-Lab, Martin Logan) with a verified stable idle into low-impedance dips.

  • Direct-Coupled Inputs: Minimizes signal coloration and ensures the famous Conrad-Johnson "Liquid" midrange transparency.

  • Regulated Power Supplies: Discrete voltage regulation for all stages to ensure low noise-floor even with high-sensitivity speakers.

  • NOS Stability: Circuit verified for use with 2004 New Old Stock (NOS) 6550A lamps for superior micro-dynamics.

  • Export edition: Factory tuned for European market 240V 50Hz.

Tube Specifications & NOS Status:
The system features an exceptional tube complement:

  • Main Set: Fitted with a matched set of New Old Stock (NOS) 6550A lamps installed in 2004 before being stored. These have extremely low hours (practically zero beside recent testing) and hold a stable bias.

  • Archival Spares: Included in the sale is a full second set of the original 1990s factory-supplied 6550A lamps from GE. These are provided as a verified backup/provenance set and have low to medium hours.

Cosmetics & Aesthetics:
The champagne-gold anodized faceplates are in excellent/near-mint condition with no pitting or oxidation. The brushed texture remains deep and luxurious. Please see the photos for condition details.

Logistics:
Located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Total weight is approximately 110kg. Original boxes are not available. Due to the weight and fragile nature of the glass/transformers, professional palletized crating can be arranged for EU-wide shipping at the buyer's expense. Local pickup (and live demo) is highly recommended.
