Beschreibung
The Vivaldi Transport was designed to extract the quintessential details from a CD or SACD. All signal processing in the Vivaldi Transport is controlled by electronics designed by dCS. The Transport uses the TEAC Esoteric VRDS Neo™ mechanism, a super-rigid construction consisting of an ultra-quiet motor and a heavy flywheel for stable disc rotation.
The Vivaldi Transport's powerful digital processing platform is based around FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chips, DSP (Digital Signal Processing) chips, and a microcontroller. All of this operating code was developed and maintained by dCS in the UK.
To improve power supply cleanliness and isolate the mechanism from the electronics, the Vivaldi Transport features a completely new chassis design that features separate power supply circuits for the digital processing and CD/SACD mechanism sections. The result is virtually inaudible operation. The Vivaldi Transport features a dual AES output that supports dCS-encrypted DSD (1 bit at 2.822 MS/s) to a dCS DAC from CD or SACD. The Vivaldi Transport also offers the option of upsampling data to DXD (24 bit at 352.8 kS/s) by transmitting the data through the same AES interface.
SACS are played back in their native DSD format using the dual AES interface. CD data is available from four PCM outputs (1x AES/EBU, 2x SPDIF, 1x SDIF-2), as is downsampled SACD data.
The Vivaldi Transport is intended for use with the Vivaldi DAC or any other suitable DAC. The unit can operate in Master mode or with the DAC as the system clock. Performance will be further enhanced by adding the Vivaldi Master Clock to the system. Vivaldi products also benefit from dCS's "soft" approach to programming logic, which allows the software to be updated to add new features, improve performance, or adapt changes to digital formats.
Used as part of the Vivaldi system, the Vivaldi Transport delivers breathtaking realism effortlessly.
