I am selling my Devialet 220, a second-hand unit purchased new in 2021. It is in excellent condition and has seen very little use, including by the first owner, who used it as a secondary amplifier for his main system on a rotating basis…
This is the latest updated version of the 220 Pro, Core Infinity, finally featuring fully integrated and functional Wi-Fi, Roon Ready, and the integration of the AIR protocol into Roon—which delivers the best results for network playback when the Devialet is connected to the home network via Wi-Fi. No need to worry about network optimization—it’s completely unnecessary and overkill, a moral and financial relief in real life compared to all the clunky wired solutions.
The Devialet offers online configuration via its memory card on the Devialet website after registration (to assign inputs and outputs, enable options, set Wi-Fi connection details, and configure the excellent, fully customizable phono input or sub output as needed).
The 220-watt power output at 6 ohms can drive many speakers; however, in my experience, it performs better in terms of sound quality with speakers that aren’t too sluggish or introverted. It’s a rather gentle amplifier, blending the control and neutrality of Class D with just the right amount of warmth and density from its Class A section. As such, it pairs well with dynamic, high-efficiency speakers, which I’ve observed with my Vivid speakers and other high-efficiency models. Personally, I much prefer the Devialet to Hypex or Purifi amplifiers, which sound undersaturated and lackluster in their tonal quality.
In short, if you’re reading this, I think you know what you’re looking for. the 220 Pro CI strikes me as the most compelling model in the Devialet lineup; its direct successor, the Astra, now retails for €16,000 new for exactly the same amplification power as the 220, making the 220 a great second-hand opportunity, given that its new price was €8,000.
I prefer a listening session and pickup at my home in the Loiret region of France, though shipping is possible if needed. I don’t have the original outer box, but I have the inner packaging. I can therefore provide custom packaging for shipping if needed, with shipping costs billed at actual rates based on the carrier chosen by the buyer.
The rear cover is not shown in the photos but is, of course, included. A video call can be arranged to demonstrate the device in operation before payment is made via bank transfer.
