Beschreibung
The Esoteric E-02 balanced phono preamplifier continues Esoteric's leadership in audio component design and performance.
The E-02 has several important features. The two machined knobs on the front panel give the impression of luxury components, requiring sufficient force to turn smoothly. The left knob selects the input: RCA 1, RCA 2 or XLR. The XLR input is for phono cartridges with moving coil and properly connected XLR phono cables. The input impedance can be selected using the knob on the right side of the front panel. The impedance, or load, is selectable for 10 Ω, 50 Ω, 100 Ω, 200 Ω, 300 Ω, 500 Ω, 1k Ω, 10k Ω and 47k Ω.
The impedance can be changed while listening to help select the (literally) optimum load for the cartridge.Gain is set at 72 dB with balanced input and output for MC cartridges and 40 dB for MM cartridges on RCA outputs. There is a switch on the rear panel to select RCA or XLR output connections. The three feet are unique: a ball-and-bowl insulated design, with the bottom part "floating" to ensure full and stable contact with any surface.
