Among Western Electric products, there are some masterpieces whose true value is not known because they were manufactured in very small numbers and therefore very few remain.
Among them, the TA-4189A boasted extremely high performance.
This is an 8-inch full-range speaker unit developed as a monitor speaker for projection rooms, etc., and was developed to achieve a penetrating sound that could cut through the noise of the projector's rotation and other sounds.
This unit is very compact, yet boasts amazingly high efficiency, and its sound is extremely high quality from low to high frequencies.
About five years ago, GIP succeeded in restoring this famous instrument, the TA-4189A.
The small enclosure, which has been researched and developed to maximize its performance, is equipped with one GIP-4189A and one GIP-597A for the high range. It is
a space-saving speaker system that takes into consideration modern housing conditions.
The enclosure is equipped with a low-cut filter and attenuator for the tweeter, and the lower section of the enclosure has two acoustic adjustment panels.
These allow the user to adjust the sound to suit the environment of the room.
