I am selling a unit I have used for several years. It is a "must-have" if you connect a transport and a DAC via USB. In my setup, it sat between a Lumin U2 Mini and an Ideon DAC, and later an Aqua La Scala; the sound quality was significantly worse without it in every instance. I had the main chip upgraded by the manufacturer about two years ago.
The 3R Master Time is designed to be connected between a digital USB source—such as a computer or music server—and a USB DAC. The device regenerates, reclocks, and re-drives the USB signal. To achieve this, Ideon employs features such as a femto clock and a proprietary low-noise power supply design. The 5V output can be switched on or off.
