Kroma Atelier Elektra
This Kroma Audio Electra really plays BIG. Room-filling. and very easy. But the system also takes the proportions into account. A vocalist is not as big as a grand piano. And vice versa of course. It stays in proportion.
You will also hear that the Electra has wonderful flexibility and neutrality. No cabinet resonances, directly identifiable coloration or distortion. Very pleasant. Very clean… and very musical.
This speaker also effortlessly conveys the character of a recording. Live sounds live. Small and intimate is presented small and intimate. And bombastic and dynamic… you get the idea. This sounds very obvious, but it is not. Just go to a show and listen carefully to various large systems. Often everything sounds big. Also the small work. Not with this Kroma Audio. it is a speaker as a speaker should be: a conduit for music. And that is – strangely enough – quite special.
“Elektra” name comes from the revenge-thirsty protagonist of the well-known drama by Richard Strauss, based on the Greek myth of Sophocles.
Kroma uses four 6.5-inch Scan Speak Revelator units for the mid and low levels in the Elektra.
The special gold-colored tweeter, which Kroma has called "the Hiquphone" - can be found on the front and back. What is special is that this is a soft dome with a very wide range and no waste beyond 20 kHz.
The housing of all Kroma Atelier is made of Krion, a non-conductive and non-magnetic material that has a very high mass, so that there is little to no resonance from the housing itself. This ensures a very neutral behavior and natural sound.
The electricity crossover is made in a separate room. Various types of wood have also been used, adapted to the internal chamber. In combination with the units, the Krion and the high-quality crossover (including components from Duelund), an extremely neutral, smooth sound has been achieved.
Kroma Atelier engineers have over 20 years of experience in developing high-end loudspeakers. They continuously strive for perfection and fidelity of the reproduction. So natural sounds and a perfect representation of the sound image. This principle is implemented down to the smallest detail. For example, the bass reflex tube is made by hand by musical instrument makers and the type of wood is chosen for sound.
