OTARI MX-5050 BII-2 (1988) — IMMACULATE CONDITION
I am selling my Otari MX-5050 BII-2, one of the most highly regarded and sought-after professional reel-to-reel tape machines, renowned for its rugged construction, reliability and durability. A true reference machine for the analogue audio enthusiast looking to make the ultimate step up to professional equipment.
CONDITION AND MAINTENANCE
* In outstanding condition, immaculate and always meticulously cared for.
* Manufactured in 1988. I have the original purchase agreement from the previous owner, dated the same year.
* The heads were relapped by Summerton, and the measurements indicate that they still have approximately 50% of their service life remaining. The original measurement reports and comparison sheets from Summertone are available upon request.
* The capacitors have been tested and measured, with all readings showing very good results. At this stage, a recap is not considered necessary.
* Last serviced and maintained three months ago.
UPGRADES AND EXTRAS
* Athan pinch roller, manufactured from polyurethane, one of the most highly regarded options among demanding users.
* Custom-made wooden side panels crafted by a professional cabinetmaker.
* Special NAB hubs, as the regular trident-hubs won't fit this model.
