The Soulnote E-2 Version 1 is a high-end, universal phono equalizer that supports Moving Coil (MC), Moving Magnet (MM), and DS Audio optical cartridges
[NOTE: Unit has been installed 'in situe' since purchase. Exactly how it is in the photos. The E-2 has been used with other very high-end equipment - happy to list on demand!]

Core Features & Architecture
• Multiple Inputs: Supports up to four tonearms or turntables simultaneously via one balanced MC XLR input, two unbalanced MC/MM RCA inputs, and a dedicated optical cartridge input.
• 144 EQ Curves: Features independent adjustments with six roll-off types, four turnover frequency types, and six low-limit adjustments, creating 144 EQ curve combinations via mechanical relays (covering Decca, Columbia, and early SP flat records).
• Non-NFB Design: Built with a fully balanced, non-negative feedback (non-NFB) discrete circuit and twin-mono architecture for high speed and a low noise floor.
• Power Supply: Incorporates a massive 400 VA toroidal transformer combined with a high-speed non-NFB regulator and parallel small-capacity condensers.
Control & Special Functions
• Degaussing Function: Shortens the inputs to effectively degauss MC/MM phono cartridges during playback; doubles as a mute function.
• Inverter Function: Switches between balanced output hot and cold pins to eliminate circuit-based sonic warping.
• Additional Modes: Includes a low-gain function for preamp headroom matching, a mono mode switch for summing left and right channels, and a dedicated optical cartridge power switch
