Beschreibung
As I’m moving up a step on the Soulnote family ladder, I’m offering a Soulnote D-2 DAC for sale.
This exceptionally musical DAC comes with its original packaging and accessories. The Ikigai Kinzan dampers (pictured) are, of course, not included.
For specific information, please check the Soulnote website.
This is an early production model; the downside is that, at the time, they were still using the wrong coat of varnish for the lid. As a result, it has discoloured slightly. When placed inside an audio cabinet, this is not visible. This has been rectified in later versions.
This DAC has a very good internal clock, but can also be driven by Soulnote’s external clock, the X-3. After a short period, and having been allowed to trial a clock, the choice was quickly made. The clock cable that Soulnote had developed, the RCC-1, is also an important part of the system. The standard cable supplied with the unit does the system no favours at all.
The clock and cable are also available as optional extras at an attractive price compared to the new price.
The DAC is available for listening demonstrations. This also provides a great opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of the clock.
