Beschreibung
For sale is my STAX SRD-7/MK2 Transformer / Energizer.
The unit has been upgraded with ultra-high-end Furutech cables and QED connectors, including upgraded hard gold-plated banana terminals.
The SRD-7/MK2 allows electrostatic STAX headphones (Earspeakers) to be driven from a conventional speaker amplifier or power amplifier. The MK2 version features two headphone outputs:
* PRO ONLY for STAX Pro-Bias headphones (580 V)
* NORMAL for older STAX Normal-Bias models
I have used the SRD-7/MK2 with, among others, my STAX SR-009S, and it works perfectly from a technical point of view.
The unit has been modified with ultra-high-end speaker cables to further improve sound quality. In addition, the rotary switch can now be used to switch the SRD-7 on and off. The original bypass function was disabled for sound-quality reasons.
In my experience, the SRD-7/MK2 can easily compete with considerably more expensive dedicated STAX amplifiers such as the SRM-400S or SRM-700 series. I have compared them myself.
I am selling it because I now use a dedicated STAX headphone amplifier and therefore no longer need the SRD-7/MK2.
Condition:
Technically, the unit works perfectly. Due to its age, however, there are clearly visible cosmetic signs of use on the housing, particularly on the sides and edges. I have tried to show these as clearly and completely as possible in the photos, so please check the pictures carefully.
This is also an excellent option for STAX enthusiasts who want to use both older Normal-Bias models and newer Pro-Bias Earspeakers with the same unit.
Inspection and a functional test are possible by prior arrangement.
Local pickup is preferred. Shipping can also be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
Private sale: The item is sold without warranty, guarantee, or right of return. All information has been provided to the best of my knowledge and belief. Brand names and product names are used solely for the purpose of describing the item offered for sale.
