Beschreibung
This is a wonderful Studer A810 master recorder, 2-track 1/4 inch, 4 speeds (3.75, 7.5, 15 & 30 ips). It has been fully overhauled including changing ALL the electrolytic and paper capacitors in 2018 as well as the MPU card battery.
The machine was most probably manufactured in 1990, as can be told by the date codes on most of the ICs (89xx and 90xx).
The alignment procedures were followed carefully and the recorder was fully aligned and calibrated for 15 and 30 ips using MRL calibration tapes for SM-900 media (CCIR, 0dB @ 500 nWb/m). 3.75 and 7.5 were also aligned as per the manual (frequency response, bias etc.). It performs flawlessly.
Cosmetically, it is in very good condition. There are minor scratches on the aluminium frame and a few paint touch-ups have been done. The side panels are not original, they have been built specially for this recorder.
The machine is sold with a harcopy of the Studer service manual and with the capacitor replacement manual with detailed notes of what has been done to the machine.
The heads show low wear.
The machine was put in climate-controlled storage a few years ago. Prior to that it was used lightly in a hi-fi environment. It was checked again in June 2026 (playback at all speeds, playback frequency response) and everything was fine.
The recorder ships in a solid wooden case (35 kg). It can also be picked up in France (06).
