Beschreibung
Offered here is a meticulously crafted pair of single-ended mono block valve amplifiers, designed by Mike Chamberlain around 1996–1997. Mike, a retired BT engineer, built these specifically for use with iconic speakers like the Tannoy Autographs and Westrex Acoustilens—both of which I owned.
These amplifiers feature:
• Rare TK7441 Partridge C Core Output Transformers
• TK8240 Partridge Mains Transformers, both potted in-house for visual appeal
(Note: To the best of our knowledge, Partridge no longer manufactures these components.)
After extensive listening tests, we selected the Mazda PP5/400 as the power tube. Currently, the amplifiers are fitted with KR Enterprise PX25 equivalents and come with their original boxes.
Technical highlights:
• Chassis: Custom folded steel.
• Trim: Industrial-grade polished stainless steel
• Rectifier: Mazda UU5
• Driver: CV1067 (6J5G equivalent)
• Input: Originally used MHL4s, replaced due to noise/microphonics
Each amplifier weighs 21.5 kg. A detailed four-page specification document is included.
