Hi, I’m doing a cleanup and a complete “rework” of my chain after a long break from head-fi. I’m adding some new listings and re-opening a few older ones that I kept from before. Feel free to check my other listings.
For sale: one of the best amplifiers (or rather DAC/amp combos) out there — Violectric V590 V2, the version with the 4.4 mm balanced output.
Condition: absolutely pristine.
The box includes everything I received (manual, remote, power cable, etc.).
I am the second owner, and I have the original invoice from Noir&Blanc (2024).
This is one of my all-time favourites. It will drive virtually any headphones, and do it exceptionally well. For a long time, it has been the centerpiece of my hi-fi setup, serving as both DAC and amplifier, as well as a preamp.
The amp is perfectly tuned to the internal DAC and can easily be an endgame solution. It certainly was for me, but due to relocation and lifestyle changes, I’m selling (or rather rebuilding) about 90% of my audio setup.
Please note: this is the non-Pro version. The main difference is that the Pro version has a “better” volume control, but in practice (for me and many others), it introduces audible noise when adjusting the knob.
I auditioned both the V590 V2 Pro and non-Pro — and returned the Pro version because the noise was too distracting. I had the same experience previously with the V550 vs V550 Pro. I liked the sound so much that I later upgraded to the V590
