The 9071A phono stage utilizes an LCR network (600 Ω input/output, RIAA equalization). It is a premier phono preamplifier, highly acclaimed by vinyl enthusiasts. Within the 9071A equalization module, the inductor—the component most critical to sound quality—employs a top-grade German-made E.I. permalloy core, while the internal C.R. components (resistors and capacitors) are custom-made with tolerances of less than 1%. The RIAA curve deviation remains within ±1 dB across the 10 Hz to 100 kHz range, and the output stage (utilizing the 144E) drives the 9071A LCR circuit at low impedance.
