The Børresen 05 SSE are the former top model flagship speakers from Audio Group Denmark's brand Børresen Acoustics. These are true reference loudspeakers with a huge amount of clarity and detail, but don't be mistaken, they do not only give you details, they give you music!
Because of the insanely light but stiff drivers and home made ribbon tweeter with a membrane weighing only 0,01 grams these loudspeakers basically do not distort, ever. Playing loudly or softly, the Borresen 05 SSE will always let you hear all the layers in the recordings in a controlled and pleasant way.
These speakers are big and ported at the rear, also, they are very powerful, more powerful than conventional speakers with paper drivers and silk dome tweeters. The 05 SSE will need a big and solid room to play in. They can play in average rooms too, but the room will need good acoustic treatment or you need a room control equalizer. In bigger rooms this is not necessary.
The Silver Supreme Edition is the best and most expensive version of the 05 speakers, the SSE version sounds way more transparent and detailled in comparison to the Cryo and Standard versions of the 05.
