This unit represents the ultimate evolution of the Bricasti M1 D/A converter, featuring the integrated MDx (Multiple Digital eXcellence) digital engine.
Key Features:
Total Separation: Two completely isolated channels, each featuring its own analog board, its own DAC (ADI 1955 in mono configuration), and its own dedicated linear power supply.
Triple Power Supply: In addition to the two transformers for the analog channels, a third independent transformer is dedicated to the digital section. This prevents electrical noise from the processors from polluting the audio signal.
Aluminum Chassis: The enclosure is CNC-milled from solid aluminum to ensure superior shielding and resonance control.
The MDx designation identifies the new digital processing platform that replaces all previous versions. Key improvements include:
Dual-Core SHARC Processor: Utilizes the powerful Analog Devices ADSP-SC584 chip to manage digital filtering and clock synchronization with significantly higher computing power.
Clocking and Jitter: The new engine optimizes the master clock throughout the entire circuit, reducing jitter to infinitesimal levels (approx. 6 picoseconds) and improving signal timing stability.
Format Support: With the MDx board, the USB input now supports DSD256 (Native and DoP) and PCM up to 384kHz/24-bit, ensuring compatibility with the latest high-resolution files.
