For sale: Chord Electronics DAVE (Digital to Analogue Veritas in Extremis), the flagship DAC designed by Rob Watts, complete with the original Chord DAVE Stand.
Condition: excellent. Used in a domestic high-end system, non-smoking household, no damage.
About the unit:
DAVE uses Chord's own FPGA processor running the WTA filter with 164,000 taps — no off-the-shelf converter chips. It remains one of the best-measuring DACs ever made and a long-standing reference in its class.
Features and connectivity:
– USB (asynchronous, galvanically isolated), 2x BNC coaxial, AES/EBU, optical
– Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analogue outputs
– Built-in reference-grade headphone amplifier (6.3 mm)
– Also functions as a preamplifier with remote control
