Reference Mechanism: It features the renowned Esoteric VRDS Neo™ VMK3 mechanism, celebrated for its extreme rigidity and heavy flywheel rotation system that minimizes vibrations and read errors.
Aerospace-Grade Construction: The chassis is machined from aerospace-grade aluminum with acoustic damping panels to eliminate mechanical resonances and magnetic interference.

The Vivaldi Transport does more than just read data; it processes and optimizes the signal for the DAC:
Integrated Upsampling: Can convert standard CD data (16-bit / 44.1kHz) into high-resolution formats such as DSD, DSDx2, or DXD (24-bit / 352.8kHz) before sending it to the converter.
Dual AES Interface: To overcome the limitations of standard digital links, dCS utilizes a dual XLR (Dual AES) connection. This allows for the bit-perfect transmission of encrypted DSD signals and DXD data to a dCS DAC.
Clock Management: Can operate as the system "Master" or, for ultimate performance, be slaved to an external Master Clock, virtually eliminating jitter (timing errors in data transmission).
Connectivity
The rear panel offers total flexibility for high-end system integration:
High-Resolution Outputs: 1x Dual AES (XLR pair) for DSD/DXD.
Standard Outputs: AES/EBU, SPDIF (RCA and BNC), and SDIF-2 for native PCM signals.
Clocking: Word Clock Input and Output via BNC connectors for universal synchronization.
Note: The other components of the dCS Vivaldi stack (Master Clock, DAC APEX, and Upsampler) are also available to form a complete, world-class digital playback system
