The S10 sets itself apart with a two-box architecture, splitting the system into a sensitive "head" unit (the switch motherboard) and a massive, completely isolated external linear power supply. This advanced configuration echoes Melco's flagship N10/2 server library, completely screening and isolating power-supply-induced radiation and noise from the delicate data paths.
The intelligence of the S10 lies in its deliberate, audio-optimized port configuration. Rather than generic IT switches, it features four 100 Mbps RJ45 ports optimized specifically for audio streaming data packet delivery, four 1 Gbps RJ45 ports designed for high-traffic processors like a Roon Core or main router, and two 1 Gbps SFP optical fiber ports for absolute galvanic isolation. Backed by a large 1.5 MB data buffer, it eliminates packet delivery timing errors and delivers an incredibly dark, silent background, fully unlocking the emotional depth, micro-dynamics, and soundstage of high-resolution digital audio.
