Description
The McIntosh MCP-1 is a rare Moving Coil head amplifier, designed to connect low-output MC cartridges to a standard MM phono input. It offers selectable impedance and gain settings for optimal cartridge matching. Compact, exceptionally well built and increasingly collectible, it is a fine example of classic McIntosh analogue engineering.
Extremely good match with following phono MC cartridges:
"Classic" Ortofon SPU with low impedance: SPU Classic, Royal, Meister, etc.
Ortofon MC old generations : MC20, MC30 et similar models
Koetsu with internal impedance close to 5 Ω : plutôt sur 20 ou 40 Ω, selon l’équilibre recherché.
Dynavector XV‑1s : entrée 40 Ω
Some Fidelity Research, Supex.
