Matrix 60 REV is the top-of-the-line in the REV series. These cables outperform MIT’s Oracle V1.2 or your money back!
The REV Series was developed by Bruce Brisson as the next step beyond the Matrix and Magnum Series, but not released until 2020. Features HD, F.A.T., and 2C3D Hologram. You can expect performance way beyond the price and numerical rating. Holography, dynamics, articulation formerly available only in cables retailing at $15k+.
Matrix Rev 2020 Product Overview
by Bruce Brisson
Ordinary cables try to influence the sound by simply fiddling with the gauge of wire, the purity of the copper conductor, or quality of the dielectric. MIT’s cables are “Engineered Audio Interfacing Solutions”; High Performance Audio Interfaces which use precisely engineered networks, which are much more accurate in transporting complex music signals.
However, depending on the sophistication of the networks we use, the properties of the copper and dielectrics that comprise the cable, as well as the type of enclosures we house the networks in, MIT Audio Interfaces can become highly expensive to manufacture.
Our goal in introducing the Matrix REV series is to meet the demands of Audiophiles who desire performance that exceeds simple audio cable, albeit at a more down-to-earth price point than something like our ACC-268 Console.
Sometime back, I had begun an engineering project that would improve the performance of the MIT Matrix Line, introduced back around 2012. But I had to shelve the project as other demands took priority. About six months ago, in the fall of 2019, I decided to revisit that project.
It turns out this became a benefit to the Audiophile sector I was designing this product for; as I decided to add more sophisticated networks than I had originally intended. This would, of course, result in an increase in the Articulation Pole count, which in turn would also increase the performance of this new MIT Matrix REV product line.
While I am not releasing the actual articulation pole count for this new Matrix REV product line, I can guarantee that we have increased the number of Articulation Poles, ranging in scale from 20% to 40% over the original MIT Matrix products, that this new Matrix REV product line is replacing.
However, while the articulation pole count is quantitative, the real question of the Audiophile always is; how has MIT improved the new Matrix REV products, audibly?
The advanced technologies we added to the Matrix Rev series have helped to optimize Harmonic structure. This in turn improves Timbre, which in turn improves Textures, which some refer to as Density, analogous to increasing the amount of pixels within a digital picture.
2C3D Hologram -- Our proprietary 2C3D technology is part of all of these products, resulting in a more life-like soundstage with improved imaging. With 2C3D the size and dimensions of the sound stage are much more life-like and the stereo imaging both between the speakers, as well as the left, versus right, out of phase information has been greatly improved over the earlier Matrix products. MIT invented the ‘Two Channel Three Dimensional’ (2C3D) technology back in the 1990’s.
Over the years, we have improved the 2C3D technology many times. MIT uses the Basic 2C3D technologies in REV 25.
We are using the 2C3D technologies ranging from the years 2000 to 2010 for all the other Matrix REV interconnects and speaker cables.
Fractional Articulation Technology – Developed using a test and measurement technique called “Fractional Octave Analysis,” F.A.T. reveals all the music that exists inter-octave. The listener will hear improved detail and clarity, surrounding each musical note. (REV 50,
