Description
Quisco is a “Passive Multivocal Resonator” (PMR)
A PMR is a passive acoustic element with no active drive, no power supply or electronics.
QUISCO reacts solely to the sound waves produced from your Hi-Fi system.
In acoustically treated rooms, a QUISCO is used to:
- expand and enrich the sound stage
- reate a natural sense of greater space
- deliver a warmer and more vivid sound that feels more “analog” in character.
PMR components such as QUISCO are intended to be installed in a previously acoustically
treated room for best results, or in spaces that are adequately furnished with
furniture, carpets, and curtains.
What PMR QUISCO brings to a Hi-Fi system:
- instruments and vocals gain more body and spatial presence
- improved spatial imaging and placement of instruments and voices
- natural perception of musical elements appearing in front of or behind
the listener, similar to a live performance
- more natural and faithful sound reproduction across the entire frequency spectrum
It is wery important to note that in a well-treated acoustic environment, QUISCO enhance
tonal richness and ambient depth.
However, in acoustically poor rooms filled with echoes and uncontrolled resonances, the
effect is minimal or almost nonexistent.
In such environments, it may even negatively affect the sound, because PMR device
will also disperse existing distortions and unwanted harmonics present in that
inadequately treated space.
The positioning of QUISCO (PMR) in a Hi-Fi listening room is illustrated in the accompanying image.
