We are sharing here the announcement from one of our clients, who is parting with his Thrax Teres power amplifier, purchased from us in January 2025. In other words, the amplifier is in perfect condition and still under warranty. All original packaging and accessories have been kept.
The Thrax Teres Stereo is a hybrid power amplifier, using a tube input stage combined with a transistor output stage. It aims to preserve a natural presentation, with body and fluidity, while offering ample power to drive demanding loudspeakers.
Its design is quite distinctive: the tube stage provides voltage gain, with a proprietary phase-splitting transformer, while the output stage uses a JFET/MOSFET architecture. The amplifier operates without global feedback, and the first watts are delivered in Class A.
One of the Teres’ more unusual technical features is the use of solar cells to bias the output stage — a rare solution intended to isolate this part of the circuit and reduce noise.
The build quality is very serious, with a machined aluminium chassis, a carefully designed power supply, and an internal dual-mono architecture for the driver stages.
