Offered is the legendary Expressive Technologies SU-1.
Unlike standard step-up transformers, the SU-1 is a 16.3 kg industrial grade component designed to provide the absolute lowest noise floor and highest dynamic range possible for low-output MC cartridges.
The massive weight is not for show; the transformers are encapsulated in a proprietary damping compound to eliminate mechanical resonance. This 'inert' chassis ensures that the micro-signals of the cartridge are never modulated by external vibration.
The SU-1 utilizes a dual-mono, multi-stage copper Faraday shield, designed specifically to eliminate RFI/EMI in high-gain environments.
It is estimated that fewer than 20 units were ever produced.
