Beschreibung
You can find the schematic on the site with his works : https://www5.big.or.jp/~dh/work/02B_2.html
The original had an 845 as output stage, but through the years it was apparently changed to a 211. I also have a 'period correct' TDO resistor, to switch back to an 845, should that be required.
Phono input is the classic TKS27 MC SUT, going into a 5691 (red base spare included), followed by the Sakuma EQ correction circuit. Special in this preamp is, it has a prototype built by Tamura, that is the predecessor of the Tamura VL-SS, which is a choke with 3 taps, that allows the user to tailor the sound a bit. This prototype differs from the final production model, in that Tamura also installed the required resistors and capacitors (vitamin Q in this case) in the casing.
There is also a CD buffer input, consisting of a stereo input, that gets summed to mono by a transformer. Switch selects between phono or cd input.
Output stage is a 211 tube. A chinese 211 is included, as well as an Elrog 242 tube, for those who which to go all the way
Output tube goes through a Tamura F-2007 output transformer at 8ohms, connected to a volume pot, and back through a step-up transformer. Classic Sakuma volume control. That output transformer has each of it's windings connected to an output, for easy connection to a stereo setup
Rectifier tube is a Western Electric 422A tube, in excellent condition
Power transformer is rated for 100V, autoformer for 230V included if necessary.
If more information is required, just send me a message!
This is a unique amplifier, in that none of Sakuma-san's amplifiers were ever commercially available. So make me an offer!
Preamp is located in Belgium, but will ship worldwide.
