Beschreibung
The Electrocompaniet ECM 2 is a top-tier high-end network media player (streamer) from a renowned Norwegian manufacturer, combining a premium digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a preamplifier. This component serves as the central hub for high-quality playback of both digital music and video content.
The unit is in pristine technical and cosmetic condition and comes with its original packaging and accessories.
Key technical features and functions:
- Premium DAC section: The ECM 2 utilizes a DAC derived from the acclaimed standalone ECD 2 model. It supports audio signal processing at resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
- Flexible streaming: It enables the playback of lossless audio formats from local network storage (NAS) and connected USB drives, as well as from online streaming services (e.g., Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify).
- Internal storage: The device features a bay for an internal 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive (HDD/SSD), allowing it to function as a standalone music library.
- Video playback: Unlike its successor, the ECM 1—which is focused exclusively on music—the ECM 2 also supports high-definition (Full HD) video playback via an integrated HDMI output for connection to a TV or projector. - Full-fledged preamplifier: Thanks to both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog outputs with volume control, the ECM 2 can be connected directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers.
- Convenient control: The player can be operated via a remote control, an app for smartphones and tablets (iOS / Android), or a web interface. Audio Specifications:
• Number of channels: 2 (Stereo)
• Frequency range: 0.5 Hz – 48 kHz
• Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD+N): < 0.0005%
• Noise level (20 Hz – 20 kHz): < -145 dB
• Output impedance: 300 Ohms
• Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC): 24-bit / 192 kHz (with upsampling to this resolution)
Connectivity and Ports:
• Digital inputs:
• 2 x Coaxial S/PDIF (RCA) – supports up to 24-bit / 192 kHz
• 2 x Optical TOSLink – supports up to 24-bit / 192 kHz
• Digital outputs (Video):
• 1 x HDMI (supports Full HD 1080p video and associated audio transmission)
• Analog outputs:
• 1 x Balanced stereo pair (XLR)
• 1 x Unbalanced stereo pair (RCA)
• Data interfaces:
• Network connection: Gigabit LAN (Ethernet) + integrated Wi-Fi
• USB ports: 4 x USB-A for connecting external drives and USB flash drives
