Beschreibung
For sale is my Pioneer A-09, one of Pioneer’s most serious Japanese integrated amplifiers from the golden era of high-end hi-fi.
This is a proper heavyweight Japanese Class A amplifier with a rich, natural and highly musical sound. It offers a beautiful midrange, strong tonal density, controlled bass, refined treble and a smooth, analogue-style presentation. Music has body, scale, texture and emotion rather than a dry or sterile character.
The amplifier has been serviced and is fully operational. It has been cleaned, checked, fitted with replacement capacitors where required, and equipped with high-quality pure copper RCA sockets for the Line, Tuner and CD inputs.
No alterations, interventions or modifications have been made to the original circuit design, circuit topology or operating principle of the amplifier. The original Pioneer circuitry remains unchanged.
The CD input can be used as a direct input to the power amplifier section, bypassing the preamplifier and volume control. This gives a shorter and more direct signal path when used with an external preamplifier, DAC with volume control, streamer with volume control or active crossover. Please note that when using the CD input in this way, volume must be controlled by an upstream component. All other inputs work normally as standard integrated amplifier inputs.
Technically, the amplifier is in perfect working order. Cosmetically, it is in very good condition for its age, with only minor signs of use. Please see the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
This is the Japanese 100V version, so a suitable step-down transformer is required for use in the UK, Europe or other 220–240V regions. A high-quality Japanese transformer can be supplied separately, if required.
