General: The Amati Supreme is a special flagship version of the Amati loudspeakers from the Italian brand Sonus Faber. This set of loudspeakers is packed with reference technologies and materials that can also be found in the flagship Suprema model.

Technology: The Sonus Faber Amati Supreme is a 4.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker. The super tweeter, tweeter and midrange driver are exactly the same as those used in the Sonus Faber flagship model, the Suprema, which costs € 550.000,- per pair. These are the best and most coherent drivers Sonus Faber has ever used in a loudspeaker. The midrange driver is a new design called the 'Camelia midrange', which also features a phase plug and a powerful neodymium magnet drive. The Sonus Faber Amati Supreme has two 220mm woofers per loudspeaker that handle the bass reproduction.

A material you will encounter in modern Sonus Faber loudspeakers, including of course the Amati Supreme, is cork. The super tweeter, tweeter and midrange each have their own compartment in the cabinet, which is acoustically damped with cork. The cork has been shaped into a special form realized through computer simulations. The use of this specially shaped cork in this compartment plays an essential role in the behavior and sound of the mid/high drivers. Everything about the Sonus Faber Amati Supreme has been thoughtfully designed with a purpose in mind. That purpose is coherence, musicality and elegance.

Placement: Despite their large size, the Sonus Faber Amati Supreme are suitable for many rooms and listening situations. This is partly due to the clever cabinet design and the Stealth Ultraflex bass ports, which, through improved dispersion of air pressure, do not boom, so the loudspeakers can also be placed closer to a rear wall. Mainly, however, the Sonus Faber Amati Supreme are versatile thanks to the adjustable mid-bass and mid-high via the included bridges, which can be placed at the rear of the speaker. The following setup options are available:

- Both bridges placed: For when the loudspeakers are placed in a large room, or an acoustically optimized room, and stand far from the rear wall.

- Only the Mid-High bridge placed: For when the loudspeakers are placed in a large room, or an acoustically optimized room, and stand close to the rear wall.

- Only the Mid-Bass bridge placed: For when the loudspeakers are placed in a small room, or a room that is not acoustically optimized, and stand far from the rear wall.

- No bass ports fitted: For when the speakers are placed in a small room, or a room not acoustically optimized, and stand close to the back wall.

Thanks to this clever system, everyone can enjoy the Sonus Faber Amati Supreme, regardless of the room in which they are placed.

Listening : The Sonus Faber Amati Supreme is one of the most remarkable Sonus Faber speakers we have heard so far. What is special about the Amati Supreme is its delicate detail and vividness.
