Description
BlackNoise Extreme V2 mains filter in excellent condition from specialist “Systems and Magic.”
Beautiful Italian minimalist design with two outputs in a very solid 4 mm thick aluminum anti-resonance enclosure.
The Extreme V2 is best suited for source components such as DACs, streamers, CD players, and preamplifiers.

The mains filter is supplied in the packaging of the phase survival kit.

"Extreme. As the name implies, maximum filtering, maximum protection and extreme possible effectiveness.
With a reduction in network harmonics that at just 1800Hz is already equal to –3db, reaching an exceptional –170db from 1MHz, the Extreme expresses the maximum result within the BlackNoise range.
The Extreme is designed to give its best in combination with equipment that handles low level signals such as CD, DVD, SACD, phono preamps, preamplifiers, step-ups and in general in all circumstances where it is of the utmost importance to preserve the original quality of the source signal to the maximum degree.
For this reason, the Extreme is hardly the only BlackNoise in a system: it takes full advantage of being used together with any other BlackNoise, 500, 1000, 2500 or MiniBlack including other Extremes themselves.
The use of two or more filters in the same system not only has an optimal synergistic effect on the overall quality, but also has the very important additional advantage of completely separating low-level sources from the power amplifier stages from the mains point of view.
The latter have much higher energy requirements than the sources and tend to be very noisy from an electrical point of view: they inject a considerable amount of disturbances into the home network, largely concentrated in low frequency.
Digital devices, in turn, tend to emit the maximum amount of noise on much higher frequencies.
Separating the final stages from the source stages at the mains power supply level and, at maximum effectiveness, also separating the preamplifiers from the rest, allows both each device to work to its full potential, and to do so without disturbing the other components of the system: an indispensable condition for obtaining the highest quality from the equipment available.
The counterpart of the Extreme is that it is limited to a maximum absorption of about 230W, so it cannot be used (nor was it designed to do so) in combination with integrated or power amplifiers.
The exception to this rule can only be represented by small (1-5W) tube monotriodes where the positive characteristics of the Extreme can be expressed without any contraindications."
