The MSB Reference DAC is designed to set a new industry benchmark for digital playback. It incorporates the same revolutionary technologies found in MSB’s flagship "Select DAC," but in a more compact and focused architecture. Key Technical Features:
Four Hybrid DAC Modules: Equipped with four proprietary Hybrid DAC. Fully balanced, ultra-high precision discrete ladder architecture.

Modular Design: Highly flexible and future-proof. It features four slots for user-replaceable input modules (e.g., Network Renderer, USB, Pro ISL, AES/EBU), allowing the system to evolve with new technologies.

Femto 33 Clock: Comes standard with MSB’s advanced Femto 33 clocking technology. This custom oven-controlled dual crystal design provides ultra-low jitter, ensuring maximum timing precision.

Reference Powerbase: Powered by a dedicated external power supply that provides high-performance, low-noise power for both the digital and analog sections of the DAC.

Integrated Analog Preamp: Includes a high-end, constant-impedance passive volume control. This allows the Reference DAC to drive power amplifiers directly, simplifying the signal path and enhancing transparency.

Synchronous LED Display: A high-visibility, wide-angle LED display that is slaved to the audio clock. It refreshes only between data processing cycles to eliminate any potential electrical interference with the audio signal.

The Reference Digital Director is a sophisticated upgrade designed to significantly enhance the performance of MSB’s Reference DAC. By acting as an external brain, it offloads all digital processing tasks from the DAC, isolating them into a dedicated chassis. This separation effectively shields the sensitive analog conversion process from the electrical noise generated by high-speed digital processing, resulting in a cleaner, more authentic sound.

Key Technical Features:
Processing Isolation: By moving all digital filtering and processing outside the DAC, the Digital Director ensures that the DAC’s internal environment remains electrically "quiet," allowing the Hybrid DAC modules to perform at their absolute peak.

Pro ISL Laser Link: The unit connects to the DAC via a proprietary fiber-optic "Pro ISL" interface. This galvanically isolated connection ensures zero electrical noise is transmitted between the Director and the DAC while maintaining perfect data synchronization.

Two-Way Communication: The Digital Director doesn't just send data; it communicates constantly with the DAC’s internal clock to ensure that the entire system remains perfectly timed and jitter-free.

Enhanced Digital Filtering: It utilizes ultra-powerful DSPs to run MSB’s proprietary digital filters, providing a significant leap in resolution, harmonic texture, and spatial accuracy compared to the DAC's internal processing alone.

Modular Input Slots: Like the DAC itself, the Digital Director features a modular architecture. It hosts the digital input modules (Network Renderer, USB, AES/EBU, etc.), allowing for easy hardware updates as digital standards evolve.
