Beschreibung
The Soulnote P-3 is an uncompromising high-end preamplifier designed for systems where transparency, dynamics, and precise signal control are the highest priorities. Its design combines Soulnote’s fully balanced, non-NFB (negative feedback) technology with an advanced relay-controlled volume system and an exceptionally powerful power supply.
The output stage utilizes Soulnote’s Type-R discrete non-NFB circuit, optimized specifically for the P-3. Instead of employing traditional negative feedback, the signal path is engineered to operate as directly as possible, preserving the music’s timing, transients, and natural dynamics.
The volume control is a central element of the design. The P-3 employs an advanced resistor-based attenuator featuring Soulnote’s proprietary RSR-2-12D ultra-low-loss relays and precision "naked foil" resistors. In total, the preamplifier incorporates 94 relays and 156 naked foil resistors.
The left channel, right channel, and control circuits feature separate ground (GND) sections, which are mechanically isolated from the chassis using ceramic insulators. This minimizes interference between channels and contributes to a expansive, precise, and three-dimensional soundstage.
The power supply is significantly more robust than what is typically found in a preamplifier. Each analog channel is equipped with its own 280 VA toroidal transformer, while the control circuits are powered by a separate transformer. The total transformer capacity is approximately 600 VA. The P-3 offers extensive analog connectivity, featuring four balanced XLR inputs and four unbalanced RCA inputs. On the output side, it provides three balanced XLR outputs as well as RCA, making the P-3 well-suited even for advanced high-end systems.
With a frequency response spanning from 2 Hz to 1 MHz, extremely low distortion, and a maximum output voltage of 21 Vrms, the P-3 is engineered to drive power amplifiers with great authority while preserving even the finest details of the music signal.
